It was in 1990 when our head chef Tina Green first introduced the taste of her home country, Thailand, to the beachside suburb of Cronulla.
Since then, Montien Tong has firmly established itself as a local favourite, dishing up delicious Thai food from the first moment it opened its doors 31 years ago.
It’s no secret that the family owned restaurant has earned its reputation amongst locals, with diners of all ages enjoying traditional dishes that celebrate Tina’s love for Thai cooking.
Some would say the restaurant has worn well with age,
however moving into its 31st year, Montien Tong will be serving up a fresh new look that is dedicated to the vibrant Cronulla culture. With the traditional Thai fare still remaining at the heart of Montien, the New Look Montien Thai Kitchen will continue to serve the honest, traditional and affordable Thai food that diners have come to love.

In line with the latest NSW Public Health Orders, we will be re-opening for dine-in service from 12th October 2021. Please note that the NSW Government announcement stipulated that the re-opening privileges are only for double vaccinated customers, therefore, presenting a valid proof of double vaccination prior to entry would be indeed mandatory.
Our top priority is to ensure our community health and safety in these unprecedented times. Wearing face masks prior to entry, keeping safe physical distance (1.5m from others), and check-ins via Service NSW app are also required.
While we wait for further government guidelines to be released in due course, we appreciate your patience and will work to ensure that strict hygiene practices are followed for the safety of our staff and customers.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
Due to current government restrictions, our restaurant is only allowed to accomodate up to 25 customers at a time. All bookings are for a maximum of 10 customer per booking and the average seating time of 1.5 hours.
We require a minimum spend of $25 per person on Friday and Saturday nights.
Please note that we require a credit card pre-authorisation for Booking Guarantee of $25 per person. Funds will be verified, but not charged to your credit card at the time of booking, however, if you cancel your booking within 24 hours of your booking, failure to notify us 24 hours in advance for any changes in guest numbers, or NO SHOW, will result in the Booking Guarantee of $25 per person** being charged (**based on the guest numbers confirmed at the time of booking.)
We have a 15 minute grace period. Please call us if you are running later than 15 minutes after your reservation time, otherwise your booking will be deemed as no-show and the cancellation fee ($25 per person) will be charged.
All bookings are for a maximum of 10 customer per booking and the average seating time of 1.5 hours. Any booking of 8 guests or more required to dine from our feed me menu and full prepayment is required to secure your booking.

Please note that we do BYO WINE ONLY $5 corkage per person. No other beverages such as beers, soft drinks or liqueurs will be accepted in the premises.
